The P227 is a two-part 60mm wide short-span structural glazing bar system designed for installing both multiwall and solid polycarbonate as well as glass. When glazing multiwall polycarbonate it can span up to 1.4m between fixing points. For longer roofs the use of additional intermediate purlins provides extra fixing points.
A hipped version of this system is available (P227H); this has a 70mm wide angled aluminium capping bar.
The P227 glazing bar system consists of a 60mm wide aluminium base bar complete with bubble gaskets, a 60mm wide screw-on aluminium capping bar complete with bubble gaskets and a push-fit polycarbonate end plate.
The base bar should be fixed to its supports top, middle and bottom, the glazing faced up and the capping bar screwed into place. Plastic screw cover caps give a neat finish.
Each bar is completed with the use of the push-fit end plates. These are not suitable when installing glass and should be replaced with an aluminium mechanical end plate. Your glass supplier can give you advice regarding recommended glazing centres and spans.
The P227 structural glazing bar system is stocked as individual packs in white, brown and mill finish in a range of lengths.
Additional individual end plates are also available separately.
